title         = 'Trayder\'s 1994 27 Boston Whaler Offshore 27';
intro = 'This is my recently acquired 1994 Offshore 27. I am the 2nd owner. The first owner purchased her new from Lauderdale Marine in 1996. The boat was used as a tender to a larger sportfishing boat and as a \"Taxi\" for the original owner from Palm Beach, Florida to the Abacos in the Bahamas. I purchased the boat in January of 2005 after locating the boat on www.yachtworld.com the listing was brief, 1994 27 offshore 1994, Evinrude 225\'s, no electronics, good condition. The listing broker knew very little about the boat, other than what I mentioned before. All else was determined from a surveyor and myself after flying down to Florida to purchase and move the boat to a good friends home in Stuart, Florida.

The surveyor found many minor issues with the boat that were related to a few years of sitting in the Bahamian sun. Many of the plastic fittings were etching away, the black trim was fading, a few pumps needed replacing, the only major issue was a soft section in the fuel tank cavity hatch, and as we all know , this is easily fixed. The surveyor also determined that the twin Evinrude 225 engines were not 1994\'s but were 1996\'s and that the electronics on the boat were more than adequate including a RayMarine ST5000 autopilot, Icom DSC VHF, and a new(er) Furuno 1850DF color fishfinder/chartplotter. Needless to say I was more than pleased ';

I am assuming Boston Whaler put it there as a provision for a fighting chair. Although I never plan on putting a fighting chair in the boat I decided against removing the stock as it was firmly in place and I did not want to risk comprimising the non-skid on the other side should the aluminum plate prove to be more than stubborn.
