you can look through a lot of the builds here and on other forums...hatches are relatively simple to fabricate...3/4 inch coosa is a bit ambitious for such an endeavor if you intend to core it...

Yours may be dry. The wood core when wet can expand and contract due to freezing and thawing....weakening the glass..take your boat out in rough water then split the keel. This is one of the spots...

You are going about it a little different then they way Tim and I have done it in the past so I dont think I can be of much help...we used to build complete one off molds where you make the two parts...
