Default How to read HID #

Does anyone know how to read the HID on a 20' SC? Mine is SECF033M74A. I assume the first four letters are Seacraft. 033 may be the hull number. 74 is the year. If I am correct so far, what is the M before the year and the A after it? Thanks. Just curious!

It may be that you have a Master Angler, not sure. Is the top of the gunwale even with the rub rail? Or does the cap raise 3-4 above the rub rail? Im not good at interpreting HIN (Hull Identification Number) but the wizards should chime in shortly.

The top of gunwale is even with the rub rail. I think the "A" at the end is for the month. In this case, it would have been delivered in January.

"SEC" Is seacraft (potter year boats) the "F" Is for the model Super Fish, Master Angler hulls would start with "SECM".

Thank you for the information. If anyone has something that explains it, please chime in. I thought it would be similiar to a car's vin # where each letter or number reveals the car's blueprint.

Unfortunately, there are so many vehicles/vins that even the manufacturers can't keep up. I order my GM parts from Rick Hendrick Chevrolet in Virginia and even my parts guy is asking what the vehicle is AFTER he has entered the vin on some occasions.

"74" = Year built 1974 (can be built in 74 and titled in 75)
"A" = I cant remember what the A is for?, this letter should decode the month

Default Hull number help

Hey all! Became a member of the cult earlier this summer when my brother and I got our hands on a 1975 Sceptre single I/O. I was poking around to get more insight on my hull number. I see the description in the post but was wondering what my double 0 means. Thanks!
