I've been chipping away at a refit on a Sceptre. I acquired a hardtop from a fellow CSC member. Here is the before and after pictures. Needs to be permanently mounted but I really like the top.
I have a lot more work to do but I'm enjoying the progress.

Woah!
Can you post some more pics of your Sceptre? It looks like you have the same exact bow pulpit and stainless rail that I have on my Sceptre. Maybe it was a factory option? I always thought it was added on by a previous owner, as I've never seen another Sceptre with one. Personally, I think it makes the lines of the boat even better. ![]() (Cape Cod Bay, heading to P'town for lunch)

The hardtop looks great on your Sceptre.A very nice looking rig you have there.
My 74 tsunami came with the bow rail from the factory, but no pulpit. fortunately I never anchor up so that's not an issue although I think about it every so often. if I had to dig out the anchor and line out of the cuddy it would be a real P.I.A. The hardtop you went with is the way to go. I had my canvas work done about 10 years ago and now looking back back now I wish I had gone with with a hardtop right from the beginning when we did the restoration. At 73 years old now that's not going to happen. Good luck with your project.

Erebus - I'll look for more pictures. The bow rail on the starboard side is bent. I need to decide whether to fix or remove it.
Bigeasy -- I used an anchor trolley on a friends boat that didn't have good bow access. It was a line that ran from the bow to the spring cleat and back in a loop. We anchored from the cockpit, clipped the anchor line to the trolley and sent it to the bow. Then tied it of on the spring cleat. Never had to go to the bow. It worked great. I'm working on the deck at the moment. It needs a new non-skid and a couple of localized repairs. I'm trying to get in as much glass work in before it gets too cold.

The platform or the railing?
If you have the platform can you send me some pics of it? I'm putting a windlass on this winter and was going to modify the platform, but if you have one you'd be willing to part with, maybe I'll modify that one instead.

I'm keeping the pulpit & windlass. It's the bow rail that's bent.
